MSFC 2023 Annular Solar Eclipse - USA Map
For an annular solar eclipse to take place, the Moon passes between the Sun and Earth, but does not completely block the face of the Sun. The Moon is perceived smaller than the Sun. Weather permitting, people located in 48 states can project the sun's image with a pinhole to see the Moon moving across the Sun. The map has the annular eclipse path where the moon is within the Sun disk and obscures 89 or 90% of the sunlight and has the contours of the obscuration of the Sun (in 10% steps). It has a pinhole so that one could use it as a pinhole camera to track eclipse changes
