WR 140
This Wolf-Rayet star is a binary which exhibits episodic dust formation due to colliding winds caused by the interaction of the pair. The observation of WR140 was part of an Early Release Science Program of the James Webb Space Telescope. The object has created 17 observable shells of dust, as seen in the image. The science team has also produced a model of the inner dust shell as it is being created by plumes emitted by the close approach of the two stars. The print comes in 3 separate pieces that are printed individually and glued together.
